BodySoul Europe Professional Development Programme Module 10 – Standing and Understanding

Marian Dunlea
November 15-18, 2012

In this module somatic psychologist and dance movement therapist Bernadette Divilly introduces movement explorations in standing and understanding.

Understanding explores the body mind soul connection to earthing our dreams, through focusing attention to the finer details involved in standing. How we integrate top and bottom, all sides, behind and in front of us, is unique to each body soul.

This workshop will explore how we develop our gait. We will explore early developmental actions and study how getting on our own two feet helps us to meet our own needs and mind our selves and live creatively.

Co-Facilitator Bernadette Divilly has been working with the psychology of the moving body for two decades in the West of Ireland. She is a graduate in Somatic Psychology/Dance Movement at the Naropa University, Boulder, CO, USA. She has recently received an achievement award by IACAT for pioneering Dance Movement Therapy in Ireland. She also works as a choreographer and has recently created and performed a new work SIUL – the Walk of Survival and Trancendence.
