Whispers of Spring: Opening to the Wisdom of the Heart

Carol Jacobs and Keren Vishny
March 14-17, 2013

The focus of the upcoming workshop is on opening the heart. Drawing on the BodySoul tradition of Marion Woodman, Mary Hamilton and Ann Skinner, we will journey together into the realm of the heart through fairytale, dreamwork, gentle body movement and art expression.

We will delve into the multitude of meanings and experiences that lie beneath the surface of the traditional expression of these words. What is/are experiences of open-heartedness? What keeps us shut down? What is required of us, Body and Soul, in order to move deeper into opening the heart? In our culture, we often look outside ourselves for the answers to these questions. However, Jungian analyst Marion Woodman suggests, “Only by BlueHost优惠码 opening ourselves to inner reality do we open to the possibility of love.” In the process of self-exploration, opening to ones own heart, we arrive at an internal ‘still point’, rooted in the reality of our Soul’s life and our physical being. From this place, we find the freedom to move into the world with a deeper sense of trust and discernment as we experience compassion, love, grace and charity, flowing in both directions.

Body Dreaming Workshop

Marian Dunlea and Joan Harcourt
January 8-10, 2013

Marian writes:
“BodyDreaming – Connecting to the dream and its bodily resonance, we listen deeply to where in the body the dream reveals the complex and therein lies the key to opening to new possibilities, an embodied lysis. The dream points us to where we are holding tension, where energy frozen through trauma, can be accessed. "

In the workshop we build the temenos for the work by paying attention to both our individual body responses and the container of the group wherein the dream energy is held, mirrored and enfleshed.  By sensing the resonance of our dream images in our bodies we can track psyche’s bluehost energy and, as Jung and Marion Woodman teach us, see where the energy wants to go. Working in this way within the holding container of the group, our dreams are given ground in our bodies and we can have an embodied sense of the direction in which the soul energy may wish to express itself.

"The dream unfolds and new images and impulses emerge, the Bodydreaming leads the way .” In this BodySoul Community Workshop we will use movement, voice work and art .

Joan Harcourt writes:
Paying attention to the sensations feeling images in my body that emerge while in a safe, sacred held space, then exploring these new impulses and through movement play and dance has been my way of integrating and healing old wounds, to ‘Coming Home to Myself’. I have participated in Marian Dunlea’s inspiring and transformative workshops in Europe, and I am delighted that I will be assisting Marian on this programme here in Australia.”

Engaging Soul’s Body: Descent and Return – International Retreat for Women and Men

Tina Stromsted
June 15-21, 2013

How do healing and transformation take place? What is the body's role and experience; and how do movement, witnessing, and dreaming facilitate this process? These questions will guide our exploration in this summer's retreat. Advances in attachment theory, neuroscience, and creative methods from Marion Woodman's BodySoul Rhythms® approach will enhance our explorations.

Join us in exploring the interpenetrating relationships between body, mind, psyche, and soul in this nourishing, vital process. Dance has been a spirited and healing medium since the days of the ancient shamans. The challenge in our time has to do with reintegrating mind, body, and spirit phentermine following millennia in which the body has been in shadow, its wisdom nearly forgotten. Natural movement is one of the most immediate ways to evoke consciousness in the cells – the light in dark matter – providing a way to listen to the body and open to the deeper healing energies of the Self.

C.G. Jung urged each of us to come to know the myth we are living. Themes that arise in depth-oriented movement practice often mirror many universal myths and legends of descent and return that express symbolically the process of deep psychological development in the journey toward becoming more whole. Authentic Movement provides a process that can assist in re-inhabiting the body, supporting you in making the descent into the dark regions below and returning to daily life with the treasures discovered there.

Designed for healing practitioners, clinicians, educators, artists, and those interested in growth and matters of the spirit, this depth-oriented Jungian approach will integrate Authentic Movement (active imagination in movement), drawing, writing, communion with nature, and creative methods from Marion Woodman's BodySoul Rhythms® approach. Studio sessions will be supplemented by seminars focusing on questions arising from your personal explorations, as well as applications relevant to your creative and professional work.

Nestled in Tuscany's beautiful rolling hills and vineyards, the private retreat center offers a peaceful, inspiring setting for self-renewal. Walking trails, delicious Tuscan cooking and a swimming pool enhance the experience. Nearby coastal villages make for a wonderful holiday if you can take the time following the intensive, as well!

Leader Tina Stromsted will be assisted by Margareta Neuberger

Dates:
June 15-21, 2013, Saturday 4 pm-Friday 10 am

Prerequisites:

In-depth experience in Authentic Movement is vital. Some background in dreamwork, expressive arts therapy or other forms of embodied creative exploration that engage conscious attention is necessary, as well as a background in personal analysis/psychotherapy. A working knowledge of English is important in order to understand and participate in the intricacies of the work. (Unfortunately it is not feasible to work with a translator as participants come from many countries and linguistic backgrounds)

Exploring Soul’s Body: Deepening Dreams – A Five Day Retreat for Women and Men

Tina Stromsted
May 5-11, 2013

Dreams carry treasures that enhance the meaning and depth of our life's journey. This retreat for experienced practitioners is rooted in a Jungian depth approach, drawing from Authentic Movement, BodySoul work, Dreamdancing®, and other creative, somatic approaches. We will engage that which inspires the spirit and nourishes the bodysoul at a beautiful retreat site by the sea.

Moving and witnessing practice provide affective mirroring and embodied presence as a foundation for the development of consciousness in the cells, and a sense of well being and belonging in the world. Sensitivity to the body can allow psychotherapists, educators, health care providers, partners and parents to attend to this language as it arises in our experiences with others, and in ourselves, hearing the soul's call and working with the obstacles to its fulfillment.

Bodydreaming and Alchemy – The Splendor Solis: A Workshop with Marian Dunlea and Wendy Bratherton

Marian Dunlea and Wendy Bratherton
September 21-23, 2012

“When we bring images from our dreams, movement, visualization, drawing, and other forms of creative expression into consciousness in our bodies, we can experience the transformative power of the body.” Marion Woodman

Marian writes:  “BodyDreaming is a way of working with dreams and  images that tracks the pathways in the body where the energy of the dream is held. It invites us into the place of healing between body and dream where old traumas, symptoms and complexes hold fast in the neural pathways of the body. This work offers possibilities for deep change. Working between image and body, energy begins to shift and a ‘new third’ reveals itself, creating new neural pathways.”

Wendy writes: “In the workshop I will show selected plates from the 1582 illuminated manuscript, The Splendor Solis which is in the British Library. This amazing series of pictures graphically denotes the alchemical process of the ‘objective’ psyche. I researched this about 12 years ago when writing a paper about the process of transformation of the psyche in a borderline patient. Many of the plates of The Splendor Solis matched the paintings, dreams and drawings he produced.”

Facilitators
Marian Dunlea has developed BodyDreaming from her many years experience in private practice and facilitating workshops. This approach brings together her training as a Jungian Analyst, BodySoul Rhythms® Workshop Facilitator, and more recent training in Somatic Experiencing, Peter Levine’s approach to trauma.

Wendy Bratherton, a Jungian Analyst, integrates BodySoul work and Craniosacral Therapy into her practice. She facilitates Infant Observation seminars for The Society for Analytical Psychology in London and has trained in trauma work with Babette Rothschild.
