Embodying Conscious Femininity: A Descent into Body and Soul, Residential Advanced Exploration

Linda Kawer and Sherry Wheaton
March 13-16, 2014

In her book, The Dragonfly Principle, Mary Hamilton describes living her dancing self:

“Deep breath in, arms lifting in winged love, right foot reaches into the floodlights. My awareness shifts into another mode official website. I do not think steps, arms, shapes, rhythms, technique or about what comes next. My trained body executes the details of “how to dance” this piece. My mind shifts into a place of awareness without thought. I drop into a state of liquid gold forming me in shapes in space. The force traveling through the liquid gold moves through me and shapes into the designs in space.

A turning point … lift … release … catch … ah … extending effortlessly into space … to off balance … catch the suspension … ah… into descend … catch … ah … suspension into a moment … running wind against skin … reach for light … ah so deep, so long … ecstasy … surrendering to gravity … condensing … melting into a formless pool … spreading wide, wider … dissolving into nothingness … gathering into center … pouring out into the turning space … streaming into the spaces all around … oh … the joy … the beauty …”

As we take our first step out, beyond all we hold precious and all we have learned, we lean in, pull back, hesitate, all the while quivering with fear. The exhilaration of soaring, for all of us who have been stuck, can be so enlivening that it pulls us further and further from our center, forever losing the possibility of stillpoint. The recoil of this unconscious soaring brings us plummeting to the depths, no center to hold us. Can we consciously approach our center, allowing movement to emanate from the stillness? Here we pause, waiting for the next impulse. No longer at the mercy of our egos, we give in to gravity, allowing the downward pull to offer the spring to soar, always returning to center. These are the natural impulses that breathe life into our dancing selves.

Are you pulled toward the possibility of this? If you are, and if you have attended at least two prior Embodying Conscious Femininity Weekend Descent workshops or one Embodying Conscious Femininity Weeklong Intensive Descent, consider joining us this March 13-16, 2014 at Lifebridge Sanctuary in Rosendale, New York for a four-day Residential Advanced Exploration.
