Jungian Writing Workshop and Study Seminar

Marlene Schiwy

April 12, 2017

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The annual Jungian Writing Workshop and Study Seminar will focus on James Hillman’s A Blue Fire: Selected Writings, a beautiful and inspiring collection of Hillman’s most vibrant writings on Soul and World, Eros and Beauty. In the book’s Prologue Thomas Moore says, “James Hillman’s work aims toward an appreciation of the soul’s beauty, its inspiring roseate hues and its bleak and terrorizing black. This accent on love and beauty spreads this psychological sensibility far beyond issues of fix, control, and cure….toward a cultural sensibility where soulfulness and beauty are the standards.”

In A Blue Fire Hillman writes, “The creative is an achievement of love. It is marked by imagination and beauty, and by connection to tradition as a living force and to nature as a living body. Nothing can create without love.”

Weekly sessions will include dreamwork, active imagination, and gentle body meditation. If you would like to join the group please email Marlene at schiwy3@shaw.ca and send a cheque to hold your place.

Group meetings will be 8 Wednesdays, April 12-May 31st, 7-9:30 pm.
