Ninth Annual “Jung in the Yurt”: A Weekend Body Soul Writing Workshop
April 14, 2018 - April 15, 2018
Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada
Gypsies, Nomad, and Tricksters: Exploring the Others Within Us
“The archetypal gypsy is an image of passion and mystery, of yearning and exile, of recklessness and resilience. Her ground note is nastos, an endless longing for home, for an archetypal abode of comfort and belonging whose reality is palpable even while we know there is no such place on earth.” ~ From Gypsy Fugue, An Archetypal Memoir
This weekend we will enter the landscape of the archetypal gypsy and her archetypal family — including trickster and musician, pilgrim and wanderer, pregnant virgin and crone — as lenses through which we can write about our lives. Through story, poem, or lyric essay; through music and movement, dreams, guided meditation and active imagination, we will explore these archetypal energies alive in our bodies and souls.
Please bring a large journal or sketchbook and any dreams you feel might be relevant.
