Psyche’s Tasks: A Woman’s Journey Toward Wholeness

Andrea Wells and Sheila Langston
May 2-4, 2014

A woman’s way is rooted in the feminine. We are by nature deeply relational and our connection to the unconscious is instinctive. However, we are often pulled away from our natural inclinations by the needs of others, by all the endless doings that our busy lives require. This weekend workshop invites you to drop deeper into your body and soul, to discover more fully which of Psyche’s tasks is calling to you at this time.
The myth of Psyche and Eros will be our guide, and we will focus primarily on the tasks which are imposed on Psyche after she lights the forbidden lamp. Together we will explore the images and symbols of Psyche’s tasks, enquiring how they are mirrored and experienced in our own lives. We will look at dreams, as well as work with the body and the voice, and use art and active imagination to flesh out our relationship with the myth, and with the Psyche within.
